When it comes to being plant-based, it can seem like the dining out options are limited. However, these days there are more and more restaurants that are offering vegetarian and vegan friendly options on their menus. In addition to that, there are more dining options popping up that offer fully plant-based menus that everyone can enjoy. One of these gems here in Atlanta is Herbanfix! They specialize in authentic Pan-Asian cuisine made 100% plant-based and they're located in Midtown Atlanta.
Their space is simply beautiful! It’s open, airy and modern.
This was the view to the right of our table. They have two level dining as you can see, and a bar area to the left of our table. Just beyond the seating is their open kitchen area.
For starters, I had what's called the Refresh juice (pineapple, mint, apple & lime--So refreshing and delicious!) on their menu and the spicy pan seared dumplings with kimchi. It made for a nice light appetizer packed with flavor.
My husband had the steamed buns with crispy soy duck, cucumber, peanut and cilantro. The buns were soft and moist filled with tender soy duck, and crisp cucumber, peanut and cilantro. It was a delicious, savory combo.
For my entrée I ordered the curried rice noodles with mushrooms and seasonal vegetables. It was flavorful, savory, filling and yet felt light enough to not leave me feeling weighed down. The creamy curry also had a little spice to it, which I loved!
My husband ordered the pan seared soy fish with organic kale simmered in curry laksa. The curry reminded him of an authentic Caribbean flavor and the soy fish was tender enough to be cut with a fork that had a taste similar to the real thing. As for the greens, they were fresh and flavorful. He really enjoyed it!
Last, but not least...it was time for dessert!
I ordered this amazing key lime pie. It was everything you would want in a key lime pie: creamy, light, zesty, bright in flavor and sweet. Even the crust was great too!
My husband ordered this scrumptious slice of chocolate cake. It was moist, filled with surprise chocolate chips, decadent, and sweet without being too sweet.
If you have not been to Herban Fix yet, I highly recommend you go! It's a treat for herbivores and carnivores alike. The service was great and the food and drinks were top notch. The warm, pleasant atmosphere also adds to the experience. I personally cannot wait to go back!
