Atlanta is quite an active city with a large community of people that enjoy hiking, yoga, running, kickboxing, kayaking, etc. Just about any physical activity you enjoy doing whether it’s indoors or outdoors, you most likely can find it here. As someone that enjoys working out, I love mixing it up and trying different workout classes around the city. Last weekend I got to experience a free class at The VibeRide in Midtown thanks to Fit Atlanta hosting an event there. The theme was ‘Tinsels and Tapbacks’ mixing some holiday flare in with a trap spin class!
As soon as you walk in the check-in desk is directly in front of you. Since you sign up online, they just simply ask for your name, remind you of your bike number and check you in right away. A quick and easy process. Right after that to the left, someone else helps you get your cycling shoes. They have some benches available right past the shoes where you can sit to comfortably change into them. Just beyond that they have plenty of lockers to choose from for storing your belongings during class. There’s no need to bring your own lock, their lockers allow you to easily set your own combination. Nice and convenient!

After placing your items away, it's time to get to work! Once you head into the studio, look at the numbers on the ground by each bike to find your spot. There were a couple people from the studio walking around to help you get set up, if needed. This includes the proper seat adjustment depending on your height, a quick intro on how to adjust the resistance and setting up on our bike. The shoes you get from them snap into the pedals to help keep you secure during class.

Front and center is where the instructor sits, so we all have a good view. On either side of them are two TVs playing the music videos to go along with each song on the playlist. Class started right on time and we went directly into a warm-up song (which just felt like part of the workout itself for a newbie like me!). Now, don't be fooled...just because you're on a bike, it does not mean you're only working your legs here. This was a full body workout! You have your core engaged, we did various push-up like moves on the handles, you're sitting up and down, moving side to side, etc. Our instructor basically incorporated dancing with cycling and it really made it fun the way she kept us engaged. The entire playlist was HYPE and truly helped me push through even when my legs felt like jello! Seeing Beyoncé and JLo on the screen killing it in their videos helped too, ha!

Our instructor kept mixing it up with the moves, speed and intensity which made for a well-rounded workout. We ended the class with sprints which are just as hard core on a bike as they are running on pavement! After the sprints we did a cool down and stretch to wrap it all up nicely. As we walked out of class, they served us samples from their in-house smoothie bar. It was delicious and refreshing, especially after such a great workout.
