I started by washing my hair with the Coconut Shea Shampoo Bar (review in prior post). In the shower, I first wet my hair then separated it into four sections. With each section, I gently rubbed the bar directly at the roots until a nice lather formed. I massaged the lather at the scalp and into the roots and worked my way down my hair until it was all covered in the lather (this also allowed for some light detangling--bonus!). Once completed with each section, I rinsed it all out with lukewarm water. I then applied the hair mask to each section (focusing on the ends first). While applying it, I could very easily detangle my hair already. The mask has a nice creamy consistency that glides through the hair with ease. After each section of hair was well coated with the mask, I twisted it up. I let the hair sit for 30 minutes under a plastic cap to allow the conditioner to really penetrate into the hair. After the 30 minutes, I rinsed each section out thoroughly with lukewarm water and then cool water. The mask left my hair feeling renewed, soft and moisturized. Right after rinsing (working one section at a time), I sprayed the hair with the Curl Hydration Spray, gently massaged it through and applied the Sweet Almond Heavy Cream from end to root. I was setting my hair for a braidout and divided each of the four sections into two braids after adding the Sweet Almond Heavy Cream. Now despite the name, this styling cream does not feel heavy on the hair. It is definitely thicker than Obia Naturals Twist Butter, but offers a stronger hold. I think the "heavy" in the name maybe more applies to the higher level of moisture it provides to the hair, which I appreciate! This was just before bed, so I tied my hair down with a satin scarf and let it air dry overnight. With my hands lightly coated in argan oil, I took out the braids the next morning. I loved my results! My braidout was soft, moisturized, and defined. This is yet another styling cream from Obia Naturals that my hair responded very well to. I highly recommend you give it and the Babassu Therapy Hair Mask a try!
