MIELLE ORGANICS POMEGRANATE & HONEY REVIEW: LEAVE-IN & TWISTING SOUFFLÉ

Picture
Throughout my natural hair journey, I’ve noticed how much my hair has thrived when using all natural products. I have tried several great brands over the years but I recently tried one new to me: Mielle Organics. I decided to try the Leave-in and Twisting Soufflé from their new Pomegranate & Honey line.

After my usual wash day routine (washed & deep conditioned), on clean, wet hair, I applied the Leave-In Conditioner  in small sections working from end to root. The instructions for the leave-in state to "Apply a generous amount to sectioned hair after conditioning. Work through with wide tooth comb. Leave-in and style as desired." I followed that up with also applying the Twisting Soufflé  to each section before setting my hair.  The instructions on the twisting soufflé state the following: "Section hair and apply Twisting Soufflé for intense hydration. Great for twist/braid outs. May be used on damp or dry hair." I set my hair for a braid-out style, so each section was braided. Once all of my hair was braided, I tied it down with my satin scarf and let it air dry overnight.

,The next morning I applied some organic argan oil to my fingertips before taking my braids down. Once all of the braids were undone I fluffed my hair for some volume (I love big hair!). My hair felt soft, fluffy and well moisturized! I did have some frizz due to my scarf slipping off during the night, but I don't mind the frizz.
DAY 1 HAIR

My hair always has the most shrinkage on day one after washing. However, during the week it stretches out and gets bigger. Either way, I try to keep it well moisturized no matter how big or shrunken the curls are, I just want it to be healthy. I loved my results even more on second day hair shown below! I re-braided my hair at night applying a small amount of the Twisting Soufflé again to each section to maintain the style and definition. I tied it down with my scarf and in the morning I took out the braids and fluffed again for volume. I was quite pleased with the results and moisture retention.

A few last notes on these products:

Consistencey: The Leave-in is creamy, lightweight, smooth and almost feels gel-like without being sticky. The Twisting Soufflé is also creamy, thicker than the leave-in and has a consistency that reminds me of a whipped butter.

Scent: These products smell divine! To me the aroma is tropical and uplifting without being overpowering. It also lingers nicely in the hair after styling like a light perfume.

Packaging: As you can see from the pictures above, the packaging is quite eye-catching with the pink labels and gold tops! Each of their respective containers make them easy to access when applying to the hair without having to struggle to get any of the product out.

Where to find them: You can purchase these products at Sally Beauty Supply online or in-store and on their website here.

Overall, I highly recommend both of these items! In addition to performing well and as stated on the packaging, I love the ingredients! They included some of my favorite powerhouse mosturizers such as aloe vera juice, shea butter, honey and several natural oils that work wonders on our hair. They specifically state on the labeling "No parabens, no sulfates, no parrafins, no mineral oil, no synthetic colors, no DEA, no animal testing." These products are new staples for me and will definitely become part of my rotation! If you give them a try, leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
